SHULLSBURG (WKOW) -- Early Monday evening, Lafayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Shullsburg Police and members of the CLEAR Team (Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response) executed a search warrant at a residence on Water Street in the City of Shullsburg.
The search disclosed the evidence of a suspected red phosphorous methamphetamine lab which had been in operation on multiple occasions. Additionally, evidence of illicit drug distribution was discovered within the residence.
59-year-old Robert Gundry was taken into custody. Gundry is now confined in the Lafayette County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
Gundry is tentatively charged with: manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing materials for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine manufacturing-waste, and maintaining a drug dwelling; all of which are felonies. The case is being referred to the Lafayette County District Attorney for review and final charging decisions.
A hazardous material cleanup company was called in to help with the collection of hazardous waste located at the residence.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional suspects have been identified and are being sought for their involvement.
