JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- A Janesville homeless center is short-staffed and looking for volunteers to help the homeless community.
The House of Mercy Homeless Center on Lincoln Street needs overnight volunteers in particular. The 25 bed shelter provides families with short-term emergency shelter and access to housing, job placement and career resources. Officials say the center is at capacity nearly every day.
Organizers say they need people that would stay in their volunteer suite at the site overnight, after the doors lock at 10 p.m. They're looking for individuals, couples or parent/child volunteers.
If you'd like to help out contact House of Mercy's manager Shirley Van Horn at (608) 754-0045.
