NEW YORK (WKOW) -- Some of the late Andy Warhol's works are up for auction. Christies in New York City is offering their first ever online-only auction of Warhol's works. The online factor will allow for a broader audience to bid on his works.
About 125 paintings, drawings, photographs and prints will be offered from Feb. 26, 2013 through March 5, 2013. Pre-sale estimates range from $600 to $70,000.
The auction is being held in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The works can be previewed online prior to the sale. Bidders can browse, bid and receive instant updates by email or phone if another bid exceeds theirs.
The first live auction raised $17 million for the Warhol Foundation's endowment.
