MADISON (WKOW) -- Jimmy the Groundhog will give his annual report on spring's arrival this year on Saturday.
Sun Prairie is hosting the annual Groundhog Day Prognostication Saturday beginning around 7 a.m. at Cannery Square Plaza, located across from Sun Prairie's City Hall.
Jimmy will be escorted by the Sun Prairie Fire Department and arrive in a limo around 7 a.m.
If you would like to get the latest details of the prediction call the Groundhog Hotline at 608-318-8712. It's open between 7:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Last year, Jimmy did not see his shadow, which meant we would get an early spring. However, Jimmy's rival, Punxsutawney Phil, did see his shadow, meaning we'd have six more weeks of winter. Jimmy has an 80 percent accuracy rating, while Phil is about half that.
Jimmy and his handlers, Jerry and Maria Hahn, join us on 27 News at 5 on Friday to talk about this year's Groundhog Day.
