MADISON (WKOW) -- State Superintendent Tony Evers recognized nine school programs Friday working to enrich rural Wisconsin.
Among them were the Cambridge Community Activities program which provides before- and after-school care at the elementary school. It's the only such program with a four-star rating in the state.
Also recognized was the Lodi FFA Community Closet. Students organized a clothing drive and then sorted and stored more than 1,000 items to be used by students in need.
Other projects recognized from across the state link school food service programs with local food producers and provide professional training and networking opportunities to rural librarians.
