MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education has named two finalists for the Superintendent of Schools.
The two finalists had to pass an initial paper screening by the Board's search consultants, a paper screening by the Board and an initial round of interviews. Of the 65 candidates that were screened, the two finalists are Dr. Jennifer Cheatham, Chief of Instruction of Chicago Public Schools and Dr. Walter Milton, Jr., Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools in Springfield IL.
Board President James Howard said, "We are excited about the caliber of our finalists, and we are eager to give the community the opportunity to meet these outstanding candidates."
Community members are invited to hear from the finalists and ask questions at a forum on Thursday, February 7 at 5:45 p.m. at the Monona Terrace. If community members are unable to attend the forum, they can submit their comments to firstname.lastname@example.org
The two finalists will also have a chance to visit schools, meet with district staff and have their final interview with the Board.
