LANSING (WKOW) -- Animal welfare groups are looking to derail a possible state-sponsored wolf hunt in Michigan before it begins.
They're gathering signatures in hopes of getting a statewide referendum on a wolf hunt on Michigan's November 2014 ballot.
Michigan's governor and legislature have been taking steps toward starting a wolf hunt.
Five states, including Wisconsin, currently have an organized wolf hunt.
