MADISON (WKOW) -- The City of Madison says they will begin plowing residential streets starting at 3:00 p.m. today.
The three day accumulation of snow warrants a general plowing, but there is not a snow emergency.
Approximately 75 units will be out, compared to the 150 or more used when bringing in private contractors. The plowing time will increase to up to 12 hours for clearing the 760 miles of streets and alleys in the City.
The City is asking residents to be patients, they will get to all the streets.
The evening commute should be fine. 30 crews have been out salting routes all day and will continue through rush hour.
