UW Football Team announces new recruiting class - WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and Sports

MADISON, WI (WKOW) -  Gary Andersen presented his first recruiting class as the University of Wisconsin's new head football coach today. 17 scholarship players signed their national letter of intent to play for Wisconsin, including six from the Badger state.  One of those guys is Alec James, a highly touted defensive end out of Brookfield East.  ESPN had James rated as the state's number one player. Running back Corey Clement is also one of the prized players in the class. He's a 210-pounder from New Jersey.

    Coach Andersen and his staff didn't have a whole lot of time to lock down this group, but the coach is happy with the result.  "i think all the coaches did a tremendous job, it was a team effort. The areas are scattered, it's very unconventional recruiting, when you take over a job in the time frame that we did to solidify a class. I'm proud of the staff and proud of the young men for helping us with the recruitng process."
