Stoughton (WKOW) -- The Stoughton High School Norwegian Dancers are a group of 23 high school students (grades 10-12) both male and female from Stoughton Wisconsin. They are currently in their 60th year of performance! On Thursday a few of the dancers stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to show off their dancing skills and talk about their upcoming performance!
The group performs traditional Scandinavian folk dance, in traditional Norwegian Bunads that represent the different districts in Norway. During the school year they perform approximately 60 times. They travel primarily around the Midwest entertaining at elementary schools, Sons of Norway Lodges, churches and senior centers and throughout the United States and Norway. This years' 2013 Spring Tour takes them to Arizona for a week where they will perform 10 times locally.
