
CAMBRIA (WKOW) -- Family and friends are raising money with a meat raffle for a 2-year-old girl who was diagnosed with a form of leukemia a few months ago.
The "Get 'Mad'dy at Cancer" crew is having a meat raffle Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Columbus at Toms Town Tap, located at 153 North Ludington Street.
Besides the meat raffle, there will be a 50/50 drawing, raffles, food and drink specials.
All the proceeds will go to help Madeline "Maddy" Schepp, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoid leukemia in October of last year. She is now undergoing a two-year treatment plan.
According to the Mayo Clinic, acute lymphoid leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Acute lymphocytic leukemia is the most common type of cancer in children, and according to the Mayo Clinic, treatments result in a good chance for a cure.
