State may sue for post-protest capitol cleaning

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The state may take legal action against the company that cleaned the capitol following the massive protests over the collective bargaining law.

A Department of Administration official says Peterson Cleaning out of Illinois stained about 100 marble stones because battery acid leaked from the machine it used.

A new company was hired to clean the stains.

That work began last Monday.

The DOA says it will cost more than $16,000 to polish the stained stones.
