Woman drops child and walks away

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- A 22-year-old Milwaukee mother is in jail fro dropping her one-year-old child on some concrete stairs and walking away.

The woman approached a passing police squad and told the officer she no longer wanted her daughter.

The little girl was taken to a local hospital Tuesday afternoon and treated for injuries to her face.  She remains hospitalized.

Police say the mother was arrested on a possible charge of felony child abuse.
