Continuing the Liegel Tradition

RIVER VALLEY, Wis. (WKOW) - On Saturday February 16th , River Valley wrestler Seth Liegel will try to punch another ticket to the state individual wrestling tournament. The 152 pound senior is going for his second straight state title. But for Seth his biggest competition may be in his own family.

It's a lot to live up to when your own father is a wrestling legend at your own high school.  Ralph Liegel was two time state champ in the 1980's and went on to wrestle at the University of Wisconsin. In addition to Ralph and Seth, older brother Scott is also a talented grappler. A champ at River Valley in 2009, Scott also wrestles at Wisconsin.

Next year Seth plans to join his brother Scott at the UW.  But before taking that next step, Seth wants to win another state title.
