HORTONVILLE (WKOW) -- A small town near Appleton is hosting a Hollywood movie crew this month.
Hortonville is the hometown of film producer Greg Cebulski and he's returned to make a movie there, titled, "Appleton".
It's a modern western, or a mid-western as they like to call it, about a small town girl who takes on the corrupt people running her town.
"Being from here I have got tons of home video of this area and I showed it to some friends of mine from la once I moved there and they said we have to go do something there it's so gorgeous and it's so unlike anything anyone out there gets to see so let's do this let's start working on this," said Cebulski.
Cebulski says tax incentives offered by the state for independent filmmakers also helped make it possible to do the movie in Hortonville.
The film stars actors from both Los Angeles and Wisconsin.
"Appleton" will continue shooting in the Fox valley for another couple of weeks.
Producers hope to have it finished a year from now.
