MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Some women from Wisconsin who were on board the ill-fated Carnival cruise ship are finally home tonight.
They docked in Alabama late Thursday night and made the last leg of their trip to Milwaukee today.
They were stuck for five days on the ship.
Gene' Albanese and her daughter were on board.
She says even the warm welcome couldn't erase the disturbing memories of the cruise gone wrong.
"The no toilets. It was that bad. It was that bad. The smell and the swamp. Just the smells, you can't really describe it at all. But it'll be stuck in my nose forever."
The cruise line says it will pay all expenses, and has offered passengers another cruise plus $500.
Albanese says she doesn't need more than that, she just needed to be home with her family.
