MADISON (WKOW) -- The public got a chance to question some of the candidates for Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education.
The East Side Progressives sponsored a forum between a few of the candidates on Sunday night.
Those who attended say they're concerned about the candidates positions on issues like charter schools and closing the achievement gap.
"This great system is not affecting everybody equally and I think more needs to be done for those who aren't receiving its benefits," says Dave Ahrens.
The candidates who attended the forum included school board president James Howard and his challenger Gregory Packnett III and competing for seat three: Dean Loumos and Wayne Strong.
Three other candidates are also running for seat five: T.J. Mertz, Sarah Manski and Ananda Mirilli. Those three will be on Tuesday's primary ballot.
