ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Adams County Sheriff's Department says the suspect in Tuesday night's shooting has died.
Sheriff Sam Wollin identified the suspect as 55-year-old Thomas Costigan of West Allis.
Wollin says Costigan was pronounced dead Wednesday evening from a self-inflicted gunshot wound he sustained Tuesday night.
Wollin also identified the deputy who was injured in the shooting as 43-year-old Todd Johnson, who's been with the Adams County Sheriff's Department for more than five years.
A spokeswoman for Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield said Johnson is good condition.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department says the deputy who was hurt during the shooting is also at St. Joseph's and was listed in good condition.
Investigators say they believe a domestic situation led to the shooting. They say they believe it all started in West Allis. Police in West Allis say a 52-year-old woman disappeared under suspicious circumstances around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities reported the woman may have been taken to Adams County.
Adams County Sheriff Sam Wollin says when officers arrived at the home in Big Flats, the suspect fired several shots at officers. Wollin says officers did not return fire and the suspect shot himself.
Authorities say the woman who was with the gunman was not hurt.
ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) -- Adams County Sheriff Sam Wollin says a preliminary investigation shows the suspect in a Tuesday night shooting in Big Flats shot himself.
Both the suspect and an Adams County Sheriff's Deputy were injured in the shooting and were airlifted to a hospital. At a morning news conference, Sheriff Wollin would not elaborate on their conditions.
Wollin also said the suspect fired several shots after officers arrived at the home in Big Flats to check on a report of suspicious activity and that officers did not return fire.
A news release from Sheriff Wollin's office says the officers responded after someone called reporting a car in the driveway of their residence, with footprints leading to the home but no lights on inside. When the officers approached the home, they saw the suspect. The news release states the suspect pulled a handgun and fired several rounds.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
West Allis Police say they had alerted authorities in Adams County that the 55-year-old man may be in the Adams County area with his wife, who had been reported missing, and that the couple had recent domestic issues that had led to a no contact order.

The West Allis Police Department was notified of a missing person under suspicious circumstances early Tuesday evening.
An investigation revealed a 52-year-old woman was missing from a West Allis residence since noon Tuesday.
Police were told the woman and her 55-year-old husband had recent marital and domestic issues, resulting in a no contact order, and that the woman may possibly be with him in an unknown location.
Based on the situation, other law enforcement agencies were alerted that she was missing and may be endangered.
Police learned the family has a location in Adams Friendship they frequent and a request was sent to police in that jurisdiction.
An Adams County Sheriff's Deputy and a Rome Police officer located the man and woman in question and shots were fired.
Both an officer and the male suspect suffered a gunshot wound and were taken by medical helicopter to a hospital.

The deputy and another man inside the home were both shot and injured.
They were taken by medical helicopter to a trauma facility.
The Sheriff's Office says there is no threat to residents.
They are continuing to investigate the incident.
