TOWN OF CROSS PLAINS (WKOW) -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of the man killed in a traffic crash Wednesday.
The crash happened on Highway 14 near Stage Coach Road shortly after 7:00 a.m. The crash involved a semi, a car and a SUV. The driver of the SUV, 44-year-old David Seymour, of Mount Horeb, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was completed Wednesday afternoon and preliminary results indicate Seymour's death was the result of blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. Additional testing is currently underway.
This case remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff's Office and the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office.
TOWN OF CROSS PLAINS (WKOW) - A Mount Horeb man was killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning near Cross Plains.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says around 7:10 a.m., crews were called to Highway 14 near Stagecoach Road for a crash involving a semi. Along with Dane County deputies, Middleton Police and Cross Plains Fire and Police responded.
Investigators say a Volkswagen Jetta was going east on Highway 14 when the driver, 19-year-old Caitlyn R. O'Brien of Cross Plains, rear-ended a 1997 Ford Explorer. The Explorer was pushed into the westbound lane, where it was struck head-on by a semi.
The driver of the Explorer, a 44-year-old man from Mount Horeb, was killed. The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office will release the name of the man after his family is notified.
O'Brien was taken to UW Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the semi, 58-year-old James R. David of Wind Lake, WI, was not hurt.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated. The Dane County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call the office's tip line at 608-284-6900.

Dane County Sheriff's deputies as well as Cross Plains police, fire and EMS are all at the scene.
