18-year-old faces final pre-trial Thursday

MADISON (WKOW) -- The man accused of beating a man to death with a baseball bat will appear in court Thursday.

It will be the final pre-trial for 18-year-old Koalton Peterson, who is accused of killing 20-year-old Ryan Smith.

Peterson waived his right to a preliminary hearing and the court entered a not guilty plea for Peterson on a charge of reckless homicide.

Authorities say Smith threatened Peterson when a marijuana deal between the two men fell through.
