MADISON (WKOW) -- A 21-year-old woman contacted Madison police early Saturday morning after leaving a downtown bar.
The woman stated a man with a squirt gun type device sprayed mace, or something similar, into her eyes.
She reported having a hard time seeing and was crying when police arrived. She told the officer it felt like her face "was on fire". Snow was used to help wash the substance away.
A man who was found sleeping in a nearby doorway was identified by a witness as the suspect. He had an extendable, police-type, baton in his pocket. The squirt gun device was not located.
27-year-old Jason Bogen, of Madison, was arrested on tentative charges of intentional use of Oleoresin device-causing bodily harm, carrying concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.
