Tribal gaming revenue declines in WI

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- A new report shows tribal gaming revenue in Wisconsin has declined.

In 2011, gaming by the state's 11 tribes generated about $1.2 billion. That's down nearly 5 percent from 2007. The Casino City's Indian Gaming Industry report says Wisconsin is one of seven states where tribal gaming revenue has declined. Twenty-eight states have tribal casinos.

Nationally, tribal gaming revenue is up. In 2011, tribal casinos took in $27 billion.

The state Legislative Audit Bureau says tribal payments to the state are up 2.5 percent since mid-2010.
