WAUKESHA (WKOW) – The Golden Guernsey Dairy plant in Waukesha could have a new owner less than two months after it closed and filed bankruptcy.
Accord Financial, a creditor in the Chapter 7 bankruptcy, says a bankruptcy trustee is negotiating a sale of the plant and all of its equipment.
In 2011, a private equity firm from Los Angeles, California, bought the plant and shut down the company January 5. The closing of the plant resulted in the loss of more than 100 jobs. The processor has been in the Milwaukee area for more than 80 years.
According to the Journal Sentinel, the play is being run on a limited basis by a handful of employees to prepare for a sale.
