NEW YORK, NY (WKOW) -- Bonnie Franklin, the redheaded actress who won fame as a divorced mom on the long-running sitcom "One Day at a Time", has passed away.
A family member says she died Friday of complications from pancreatic cancer, which she was diagnosed with in September 2012.
Franklin had stage and TV credits to her name before being cast as Ann Romano on "One Day at a Time". The show made it's premiere in 1975 with Franklin played a divorced single mother raising two teenage girls, Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips.
The series ran for nine seasons, spending most of them as a Top 20 hit.
Franklin recently reunited with Bertinelli on her hit show "Hot in Cleveland".
