MADISON (WKOW) – According to Gasbuddy's daily survey, the average retail gas prices in Madison has fallen 10.3 cents per gallon in the past week.
The Gasbuddy daily survey includes 210 gas outlets in the Madison area. The average price of gas on Sunday was about $3.62 per gallon which is less than the national average at $3.70 per gallon.
"Gasoline prices have continued to remain relatively stable in the last week, falling a few cents per gallon, providing well needed relief to motorists," says GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
Sunday gas prices were 16 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago. The national average of gas on Sunday was 0.7 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
DeHaan says, "Perhaps more noteworthy, however, is the fact that current average gasoline prices have now fallen under their year ago levels. And perhaps the best news is that the national average will likely continue to decline in most areas east of the Rockies in the week ahead as wholesale gasoline prices have given up ground."
GasBuddy operates MadisonGasPrices.com and over 250 similar websites that track
gasoline prices at over 140,000 gasoline stations in the United States and
Canada.
