Navy contract secures Beloit jobs

BELOIT (WKOW) -- A little job security was announced Tuesday for workers at a Beloit engine company.

Fairbanks Morse Engine makes diesel engines for ships and has been working with Marinette Marine on U.S. Navy contracts.

Marinette Marine announced it has won the contract to build two more Navy ships.

The $700 million contract means another five years of work for 1,400 people in Marinette and about 350 at the engine plant in Beloit.
