MADISON (WKOW) – An investigation of a Middleton foster care agency accused of misusing millions of taxpayer dollars is underway.
The Community Care Resources Inc. foster care agency is accused of overcharging counties by millions of dollars between 2009 and 2011.
Authorities accuse the agency of using the extra cash for excessive salaries and luxurious items, such as three houses and six vehicles.
The agency's attorney says his client disputes the allegations but will cooperate with the investigation.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the agency's license has been revoked, but it will continue to operate until the appeal. A pre-hearing is set for June 7.
