MADISON (WKOW) -- Fewer items are expected to be confiscated from passengers starting next month and that could mean less freebies for Wisconsin agencies.
TSA has decided to allow pocketknives on planes. In the past, some items that didn't clear security have gone to charitable groups and agencies through the state's surplus system.
A federal surplus sales supervisor says thousands of knives and other items got auctioned off the benefit the Wisconsin Technical System Foundation. The Wisconsin State Journal reports those auctions raised about $18,000.
