MADISON (WKOW) -- The University of Wisconsin- Madison welcomed its third finalist for chancellor on Monday.
Kim A. Wilcox has been Provost and Vice President for academic affairs at Michigan State University; he also worked as a professor.
Wilcox says he has a deep respect for UW-Madison and believes in its commitment in academic prominence.
Public forum was held for Kim Wilcox, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Michigan State University.
Wilcox said Wisconsin should be proud of its culture of change and energy; highlighting people like Senator "Fighting" Bob La Follette and Congressman Paul Ryan as examples of dynamic people willing to take risks and move things on a national stage.
"That's a platform that I think higher education needs in the 21st Century. And working in a culture, a state that embraces that kind of risk taking, I believe is going to be crucial for any successful university and/or chancellor to really affect the change we need to" said Wilcox.
The fourth chancellor finalist, acting U.S. Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank, is scheduled to visit Madison on Wednesday.
