Columbia County offers free sand & bags for flooding

Posted:

COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- Columbia County is offering free sandbags and sand to people who have seen flooding.

Rain over the weekend caused some localized flooding around the county. Sandbags and sand is available to the general public at the Columbia County Highway Shop at 338 West Old Highway 16 in Wyocena.

Filled sand bags are available on a first come first served basis. After they are gone, residents can fill their own bags. Residents are asked to bring their own shovel.

Columbia County Emergency Management says the sand and bags are on the southeast side of the shop. Used sandbags can be returned to the same location for disposal.
