SWAT Team called in for incident in Turtle Township

TURTLE TOWNSHIP (WKOW) -- A SWAT Team is called in to help with a man who wouldn't come out of a home in Rock County.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office was called to 2237 East Huebbe Parkway in Turtle Township around 12:15 a.m. Monday. The person who called police told dispatchers a 53-year-old man was "freaking out."

By the time deputies got to the home, family members had gotten out of the house. Deputies tried to make contact with the man left inside the home, but say he refused to answer the phone or come to the door. Deputies reported hearing him yelling and breaking things and saw him throw items out the front window.

After an hour, the Rock County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team was activated. Negotiators eventually got him to talk, but say the man would still not come out of the house.

Around 5:00 a.m. the SWAT Team went into the home and took the man into custody. He was treated for a cut on his hand at the scene, then taken to Beloit Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

The case is still under investigation. The man has not been arrested.
