MADISON (WKOW) -- A 44-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after Madison Police say he banged on the front door of a residence looking for a party near the downtown area.
Madison Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 300 block of South Orchard Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday. Police say a 22-year-old woman said she heard banging at the front door, then the sounds of someone trying to get in. The suspect then went to the backdoor. Both the front and back doors were locked.
Police later found the suspect, Eric Griffin, walking in the area. According to police, Griffin told them he heard about a party in the area while he was hanging out at a bar earlier. He told police that's why he went up to the door.
Griffin was arrested for a parole violation. Court records show Griffin was on parole for a burglary conviction in 2004.
