
VERONA (WKOW) -- Authorities say a woman found dead outside a nursing facility in Verona died of hypothermia from exposure to the cold.
The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as 93-year-old Edna Biederman of Verona.
Autopsy results show Biederman's death was accidental.
Her body was found Friday morning outside the Four Winds Lodge, where she lived. Investigators believe Biederman left the building on her own and succumbed to the cold.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services, which licenses assisted living facilities and nursing homes, is investigating.

VERONA (WKOW) -- Verona police were called to the Four Winds Lodge Friday morning for a death investigation.
An employee of the assisted living center located a 93-year-old female resident lying outside the building, deceased.
The Verona Police Department is working with staff from the Lodge to determine a timeline of when the resident was last seen alive.
It is believed the victim left the facility on her own and succumbed to the elements. Foul play is not suspected.
An autopsy was completed Monday.
The victim's name is being withheld at this time, pending notice from the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office.
