WOOD COUNTY (WKOW) -- A Wood County canine officer is back on the beat after disappearing for almost two days.
Toro the dog got away from his sheriff's department handler last Sunday.
It took almost a dozen crews nearly two days to find him.
Once they did, officers took him to a veterinarian who found no concerns.
"We invested a lot of time and money in Toro, and we really missed him for that time frame. We're real lucky we found him,"says Lt. Shawn Becker.
Officers say now that Toro is back, things feel more complete.
They say they're looking into tracking collars for their K-9's to prevent them from getting lost in the future.
