UW, Madison College sign reverse transfer deal

MADISON (WKOW) -- The University of Wisconsin and Madison College are teaming up to help more students earn associate degrees.

Monday, the schools announced a "reverse transfer" agreement.

It allows Madison College students who've earned at least 30 credits to transfer to UW- Madison and take classes required for an associate degree.

"That helps the students because when they graduate they will have two degrees now. So now that's better for them in the job market," said Madison College president Bettsey Barhorst.

School officials say the agreement is the first of its kind in the state, and one of the first in the nation.

It takes effect in the fall.
