Senator Johnson will seek re-election

Posted:

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) – U.S. Senator Ron Johnson says he plans to seek re-election in 2016.

Some Republicans have speculated the senator would only serve one term.

According to WTMJ radio, Johnson feels his vote will be needed on bipartisan solutions to the nation's fiscal problems.

The Republican senator, who calls himself a ‘citizen legislator', says there aren't enough people in Washington willing to "take those tough votes."

According to the Hill capital newspaper, Johnson told a group of Republican strategists in Washington, D.C., that he's started fundraising for a second run.
