Barneveld advances to girls state championship

MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- Barneveld defeated South Shore, 54-45, in the Division 5 semifinals of the WIAA girls basketball state tournament Thursday.

Barneveld (27-1) will take on Wisconsin Rapids Asssumption in the championship game at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Tip off is at 11:05 a.m. Saturday.

Barneveld sophomore forward Rachel Slaney had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

South Shore's senior Megan Gustafson had 17 rebounds, a new single-game division record.
