ELCHO (WKOW) -- Langlade County authorities say they're investigating the death of a snowmobiler found dead in northeastern Wisconsin.

Deputies received a report around noon Saturday of a body found near a snowmobile on private property near Otter Lake, in the town of Elcho.

WLUK-TV reports the man has been identified as 55-year-old Robert Ottman, of Rhinealnder.

Authorities say their preliminary investigation finds Ottman drove his snowmobile onto the private property in an attempt to gain access to Otter Lake, and his snowmobile became stuck.

The exact cause of death is still under investigation.
