TOWN OF EMMET (WKOW) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the man killed in Monday morning's crash on Highway 26.

29-year-old Ryan Heidner, of Reeseville, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.

The crash happened on Highway 26 just south of 5 Mile Road shortly after 6:00 Monday morning.

The investigation revealed Heidner was driving southbound on Highway 26 in a 2001 Dodge Intrepid when he crossed the center line, striking a semi head-on.  The driver of the semi was uninjured.

Assisting the Dodge County Sheriff's were: the Crash Investigation Team, Watertown Fire & Rescue, Watertown Paramedics, Wisconsin State Patrol, Dodge County Chaplain, DCERT, Dodge County Posse, and the Dodge County Highway Shop.

TOWN OF EMMET (WKOW) -- A head-on crash in Dodge County killed one person Monday morning.

Dodge County Sheriff's responded to the car vs semi crash on State Highway 26 just south of 5 Mile Road shortly after 6:00 a.m.

Investigation reveals a 2001 Dodge Intrepid, driven by a 29-year-old Reeseville man, was southbound on Highway 26 when it crossed the center line, striking a Freightliner tanker semi head-on, driven by Michael Gray of Sullivan. 

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.  Gray was uninjured.

The semi was hauling hydrogen peroxide, however, no leaks resulted from the accident.

Highway 26 was shut down, in both directions, for several hours.

WATERTOWN (WKOW) -- According to WISN 12 News in Milwaukee, the Dodge County Sheriff's Department says one person has died after a semi and car collided on Highway 26 near 5 Mile Road in Watertown.

The head-on crash happened shortly before 6:30 Monday morning.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy. 26 are closed.  Alternate routes are as follows:  northbound drivers can take County Q west to County K, north on County K to County J, east on County J back to 16/26.  Southbound traffic can take County JM east to County M, south on County M to WIS 16, and west on WIS 16 back to WIS 26.
