UPDATE: Farm truck crashes into train

DEFOREST (WKOW) -- A farm truck crashed into a Canadian Pacific freight train late Monday morning near the Dane/Columbia County Line.

Preliminary investigation shows the grain-style truck was traveling west on Meek Road and failed to stop at the stop sign, at the railroad intersection.

The driver of the truck, 51-year-old David Huebner, of Columbus, was injured and transported by Arlington EMS to UW Hospital.  Huebner was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign along with failure to wear a seatbelt.

The train was traveling south at approximately 10 mph. and consisted of two engines and five cars.  Damage to the train or to the train tracks is undetermined at this time.

TOWN OF MORRISONVILLE (WKOW) -- Columbia County Sheriff's say the received a call from Dane County regarding a train vs. dump truck accident around 11:15 Monday morning.

The accident happened on County Road DM.  They say Arlington Fire and EMS was paged and arrived on scene. 

One person was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with unknown injuries.

No further information has been released at this time.
