MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD)'s new superintendent has released her plans for the district in her first 90 days on the job.

Jennifer Cheatham is expected to start working in the district on April 1st. In the first few weeks, Cheatham will visit schools and neighborhoods to talk with students, teachers and parents.

Cheatham's plan also outlines her plans to gather and analyze school and district data to gain a better understanding of MMSD and its families.

"I want to begin my work by listening and learning about the district's strengths, challenges and opportunities for improvement," Cheatham said in a written statement. "This entry plan will help guide my work and ensure that we build on the strengths of the district while identifying the most powerful strategies for addressing its challenges."
