DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- Dane County Emergency Management will be testing its warning sirens Wednesday at noon, and they'll sound different than usual.
Officials say the sirens will sound more like a "growl" than their full volume wail.
The test will last about 15 to 25 seconds.
It's part of an upgrade of the outdoor warning siren control system. If there is a threat of severe weather, the test will be postponed.
