MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The extra-long winter we're having is starting to infringe on an official rite of spring: the start of baseball season.
The Brewers' opening day is less than two weeks away.
You might want to leave now if you want a place to park.
With the snow from 100 acres of asphalt piled into mountains, grounds crews have conceded that the sun isn't going to melt it in time for fans to park, so they're having to haul it away.
"This was probably a few weeks ago, where we talked about the possibility that there was a chance this wasn't going to melt and the issue is the weather forecast for the next week is not good, so they realized yesterday that it's time to start moving," said Greg Kastenholz, head of the snow clearing crew.
This is the first time crews can remember ever having to remove snow for the Brewer's home opener, even when it was County Stadium.
