MADISON (WKOW) -- You can thank our long, snowy winter for a green spring here in the Madison area.
The drought is officially over in southern Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service says the above average snowfall has given us the necessary amount of moisture to end the drought.
Here in Madison, we've received more than 7 inches of precipitation since January 1.
West-central and northern Wisconsin are still dealing with a moderate to severe drought.
