MADISON (WKOW) -- Badger fans in Madison watched in disbelief as their team lost to Ole Miss in their opening game of the NCAA tournament Friday.
It was standing room only at Union South on campus, as some mixed studying with keeping their eye on the Badgers.
State Street bars and restaurants were also packed. The mood shifted quickly at State Street Brats as Wisconsin failed to keep up with Ole Miss.
"It's very frustrating because we know that their talent is way above how they played today," UW-Madison freshman Nick Smith said. He also mentioned that his spring break trip to Mississippi will be less enjoyable thanks to the outcome.
"It's disappointing of course. So next season, they'll do better," fan Andre King said. That's the attitude a lot of people had after the game. Fans told WKOW that while it was a tough loss, the Badgers will have a better season next year.
