MILTON (WKOW) -- Authorities said officers fired rubber bullets at an armed man in a Milton home to end a standoff.
Officials said officers responded to the home at 622 Rogers Street just before noon Tuesday on a domestic violence call.
Authorities said 29-year old Joseph Usher of Milton was armed with two knives. They said officers were able to get Usher's wife and children out of the home, when he went into the basement.
After several hours of negotiating with the man, Milton Police Chief Dan Layber told 27 News Rock County sheriff's deputies fired rubber bullets from a multi-launcher device at Usher, and were able to arrest him. Layber said Usher was not seriously hurt.
Layber said Usher initially urged responding officers to shoot him.
Authorities said Usher's tentative charges include false imprisonment, disorderly conduct/domestic violence, and possession of THC.
