MADISON (WKOW) – The state Department of
Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is organizing a trip to Colombia in
mid-July to increase trade.
The agriculture department says Colombia's
livestock industry has a growing demand for U.S. exports like animal feed, feed
ingredients, livestock genetics and agricultural equipment. Last year, the U.S. moved more than $1
billion in agricultural exports to Colombia.
U.S. producers will meet with buyers and tour
a feed mill. An interpreter will also be
on the trip.
Producers who want to go on the trip have to
register by April 22 and pay their costs.
