Tuesday afternoon, Saalsaa appeared in Lafayette County Court, where bail was set at $5,000.
The Monroe Police Department is still investigating.
ARGYLE (WKOW) -- An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in the death of a man police say got into a fight with his brother.
The incident happened Sunday in Argyle. Aaron Saalsaa, 27, was found outside a home on North Broad Street. The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office says Saalsaa passed away at a Madison hospital Monday night.
Authorities arrested his brother, Danial Saalsaa, 29, for his role in the fight. He is currently being held at the Lafayette County Jail.
The suspect and victim are brothers-in-law of Argyle Police Chief Hayley Saalsaa. Since Argyle police work closely with the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office, the Monroe Police Department is investigating the incident.
Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley tells 27 News they are still investigating what happened, but that no weapons were involved. He says the two brothers were involved in a wrestling and fist fight "with a tragic ending."
Chief Kelley says the autopsy on Aaron Saalsaa is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death. Once their investigation is complete, Monroe police will refer its findings to the Lafayette County District Attorney for possible charges. Right now, Danial Saalsaa faces a tentative charge of felony aggravated battery.
