LA CROSSE (WKOW) – A
Minnesota man's challenge to his life sentence for a fatal club shooting in
downtown La Crosse has been rejected by an appeals court.
Michael Alexander argued
the trial transcript was flawed and that his attorney was ineffective. He also said a judge had violated his rights
by allowing his lawyer to introduce two witness statements.
A La Crosse County Circuit
Court judge denied Alexander's motion for a new sentence. According to the La Crosse Tribune, an
appeals court affirmed that ruling Thursday.
The 30-year-old Winona,
Minnesota, man was convicted in 2003 of fatally shooting Therrick Roberts and
injuring two other men outside the Club Millenium.
