MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- More than 400 runners from Wisconsin participated in Monday's Boston Marathon before two bombs exploded near the finish line.
WISN caught up with several of them as they returned home.
"I heard two explosions and then people running," said Kelly, a marathon runner from Wisconsin. She asked that we do not use her last name.
Kelly was with her fiancee David; they got engaged in Boston over the weekend. David was there to cheer Kelly on, and said he's thankful she wasn't hurt.
Former Wisconsin lawmaker John Gard also ran the marathon. He returned home with tears in his eyes. Gard was joined by other Boston marathon runners who arrived back to Wisconsin carrying the looks of lives changed by tragedy.
